New Hope Academy

Digital Media Arts

3D Production
Students use 3D Studio Max or Maya, the two industry standard software packages from Autodesk, to create objects and virtual 3D worlds. Once students create models, they learn to add lighting and animate those models. This is a program which provides students with an opportunity to study college level techniques.

Alternative Process Photography
Alternative Process Photography is a course that explores photographic processes beyond the boundaries of digital media.  The class teaches the importance of learning how photography evolved over time.  Alternative Process also suits the needs of students who want to learn about photography but have trouble with their computer skills.  The course is designed for students to think in novel and experimental ways to explore brand new photographic techniques.

Animation & Web Design
Students learn to create Flash animations. When creating web sites, students learn to write HTML code so they can take better advantage of applications like Dreamweaver. In addition to learning how to use the software, students learn about the essential design elements.

Digital Photography
There are many goals of the Digital Photography courses held at New Hope Academy.  However, the end goal is to teach the students all of the technical skills needed to shoot, edit and print digital photographs.  Students in the Digital Photography class are involved in many different areas of the school, they work on the yearbook, newspaper, and help photograph all school trips and performances.

Video Production
Students learn essential techniques of filming and editing in high definition. Students become familiar with Final Cut Pro, the industry standard video editing software.
