Has your child been struggling at school?
Perhaps he's not doing well academically or behaviorally?
Or perhaps he has a diagnosis that makes going to a traditional school a challenging experience. Regardless of your child's problem, the good news is that your child doesn't have to struggle any longer. Thanks to New Hope Academy (NHA), a non-traditional private based school, your child can finally succeed.
NHA is unique in offering students in sixth through 12th grade a small group setting with a two-to-one ratio of teachers to students.
This means that with its current enrollment of 100 kids, it has 60 teachers on staff.
In addition, you can decide if you want your child in a classroom or have one-on-one interaction with a teacher instead.
Either way, your child will always receive group interaction.
As opposed to placing children with all different diagnoses in one classroom, it breaks them into groups that cater to their particular special need.
NHA provides the least restrictive environment for students who are not succeeding and thriving in the traditional educational environment or in the traditional alternative school.
It has courses for students from gifted to low achieving, and has specially trained staff to help them succeed.
Many teachers have a special education background and many are certified in the problem area in which they teach.
Plus, NHA offers a diversity of classes that you won't find in most traditional schools.
Subjects range from conventional classes like math and social studies to performing arts, yoga, chess, digital photography and 3D production.
There is constant interaction between NHA and parents.
In fact, every parent is required to sign a contract that they will meet with the school on a monthly basis. In addition, NHA routinely contacts parents to update them on issues pertaining to their child's interactive behavior, test scores, cooperation and respect for authority.
Ninety percent of the students who were once struggling at school ultimately graduate and go on to college.
NHA is certified in Pennsylvania and in New Jersey to grant high school diplomas.
NHA operates at two locations, but as one school. It was first established in Yardley in 2001 and then in Doylestown in 2005. The same opportunities are offered on both campuses.
NHA's parent company, METC (Motivational Educational Training Company) was established in 1972 as a small tutoring company. Parents liked its teaching style and small size so much that they encouraged METC to establish its current day school.
New Hope Academy received its name because parents realized that this school would offer "new hope" for their children.
METC offers its day school from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and continues to offer its Tutoring Studio from 3:00pm until 9:00pm Mondays through Fridays, and Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm to the general public.
The studio offers help in all subjects for all ages, even adults. It offers test prep reviews for tests like the SAT and PSAT. It also offers original or make-up credit courses.
Don't let your child struggle any longer. Instead your child can succeed and receive "new hope" at NHA.
